Support your community newspaper. Donate to The Echo!
A special request . . . from the team at the Lowertown Echo
The Echo is published four times a year by a small, hardworking team of volunteers. We give our time and energies freely to support our beloved local journal and our community.
We keep our costs moderately low – about $3,000 per issue (for printing) – or $12,000 per year. Currently, we cover a percentage of this cost through advertising, and the Lowertown Community Association underwrites the rest.
We need your help!
Lowertown has many challenges and its community association has lots of initiatives and programs to support. We’d like to make the Echo financially independent and fully cover our costs each year through ads and donations. To achieve this, we are putting a huge effort into finding more advertisers. And, now we are initiating a fundraising campaign that will be live for the rest of the year.
Our goal is $18,000 by December 31, 2026, to cover the printing costs for the remaining two issues of 2026 and a full season of four issues in 2027. You can help by becoming an Echo supporter and contributing any amount that is possible for you. Donors will be thanked in the paper, unless anonymity is preferred.
