For 55 years, the Lowertown Community Resource Center (LCRC) has been part of the living fabric of our neighbourhood. Day after day, it supports families, seniors, youth, newcomers, and many others who make up the human richness of Lowertown. Thanks to a dedicated team and the support of residents, the LCRC remains a place of welcome, solidarity, and mutual aid – a true community pillar.

Today, we are appealing to the generosity of all those who love this neighbourhood: become a monthly donor to the LCRC! Our goal is to reach 110 monthly donations – 55 in honour of our first 55 years of history, and another 55 for the next 55. We currently have 31 monthly donations and will keep you updated on our progress!

Every monthly contribution, no matter how small, ensures the stability of services that meet the needs of our neighbours – food assistance, family support, senior care, youth activities, and much more. It’s a concrete way to contribute to the well-being of your own community and to keep alive the spirit of resilience that characterizes Lowertown.

And if a monthly donation isn’t right for you, a one-time donation is just as valuable! Every gesture counts, and every dollar received helps maintain and strengthen the Centre’s programs. The LCRC is a registered charity, which means you will receive an official receipt for tax purposes, regardless of the type of donation you choose.

Supporting the LCRC also means affirming our pride and showing your K1Ndness – a nod to our postal code, K1N – and to the positive energy that drives us collectively! Being K1Nd means giving back to where we live, investing in our local community, and in a future of solidarity for all.

I invite you, dear neighbours, to make this heartfelt gesture for our neighbourhood. Together, let’s keep Lowertown strong, welcoming, and vibrant – for today and for generations to come.
